Built by an agent. Engineered for agents.
XILO has been building the platform and client experiences for independent insurance agencies since 2018. The AI Agents we deploy today run on eight years of intake, integration, and quoting infrastructure that already powers hundreds of agencies.
An agent and an engineer

Two best friends from Delaware
XILO was started by Jon Corrin and Eli Zaragoza, two best friends who grew up in Delaware together. Eli ran his family-owned independent insurance agency and was licensed in P&C when he brought in Jon, a software engineer, with one core focus: build online quoting experiences like The Zebra, but for his agency.
Modernizing the independent agency
That focus grew into a venture-backed software business dedicated to modernizing the average independent agency. The goal has never changed: drive a better client experience up front while automating the back office for broker teams. Over six years we raised $15M and serviced more than 500 agencies, including 40 of the Top 100.
A new vision, ahead of the technology
In late 2022 we set a new vision for the company: build the future of insurance distribution through AI Agents. The LLM technology and the industry were not ready yet, so we built the infrastructure our agents would need for truly agentic distribution, including our AI Chrome Extension, which learned how to automate filling carrier portals.
Replacing our own products with agents
As one of the dominant players in agency data intake, carrier pre-fill, and pre-mapped proposals, we began deploying AI Agents to replace our own core products for our customers. Unlike newer entrants, we built on deep industry experience, hundreds of integrations, long-standing carrier and agency relationships, and software infrastructure already running real books of business. That is why our agents work well for our customers.
Agents in the market, outcomes in the book
We are actively deploying these AI Agents to the market and the impact is profound. For customers who struggle to drive adoption of AI internally, we offer AI Agent Management Services: our team uses the agents ourselves to deliver the same outcomes, eliminating the need to teach teammates how to use and grow AI Agents.
The catalyst for agentic distribution
Our ambition is to be the catalyst for true agentic insurance distribution. That spans clients shopping online, and brokers using AI Agents to take clients from intake to bind with humans in the loop, freed from admin work. We believe that within five years, clients will begin shopping for smaller lines through AI Agents of their own. Insurance distributors will need acquisition channels that are agent-to-agent friendly (A2A) and a presence in LLM chat channels through protocols like MCP. XILO is building for that future now.
Works better together
Frequently asked questions
Who founded XILO?
XILO was founded in 2018 by Jon Corrin, a software engineer, and Eli Zaragoza, a licensed P&C agent who ran his family-owned independent insurance agency. The two grew up together in Delaware and started XILO to build modern online quoting experiences for independent agencies.
How long has XILO been building technology for insurance agencies?
Since 2018. XILO has raised $15M over six years and serviced more than 500 agencies, including 40 of the Top 100, starting with digital intake and carrier pre-fill and evolving into AI Agents for insurance distribution.
What makes XILO different from newer AI insurance startups?
XILO's AI Agents are built on eight years of production infrastructure: hundreds of AMS, rater, and CRM integrations, deep carrier relationships, and intake and quoting systems already running real books of business. Newer entrants start from a demo; XILO started from a distribution platform.
What is agentic insurance distribution?
A model where AI Agents execute the work of distribution, from client intake through quoting to proposal, with humans in the loop for judgment. XILO expects clients to begin shopping smaller lines through their own AI Agents within five years, which will require distributors to support agent-to-agent (A2A) channels and LLM chat channels through protocols like MCP.
